How it works

  1. Place your order and I’ll post you an inclusion kit with simple instructions.

  2. Write your ring size and colour choice on the form included with your kit. If you’re unsure of your size, select the ring sizer option when ordering.

  3. Send your inclusion back to me. Return postage is about £1.55, sent as a large letter.

  4. I make your ring and send it out to you.

How long it takes

Please allow 12–14 weeks from when I receive your inclusion. Gold rings are made to order and sent to the assay office for hallmarking. If you need it for a particular date, message me before you order and we’ll work out whether it’s doable.

Good to know

Please read the terms and conditions before ordering. They cover care instructions and the guarantee. I can’t be responsible for damage or discolouration caused by not following the care instructions, so it’s worth a quick read.

Any questions?

Just send me a message. I’m always happy to talk it through, show you photo examples, or help you choose colours and flakes.

Inclusion Information & Requirements

Every inclusion is unique, and we understand just how precious these materials can be. To help us create your perfect keepsake, please read the relevant information below before sending your inclusions.

Breastmilk & Colostrum

  • Minimum quantity: Ideally 5ml of breastmilk or colostrum. Smaller quantities can be accommodated, below 2.5ml I may need to add a little water during preservation.
  • Previously frozen milk: Perfectly suitable, including milk that has been stored in the freezer for some time.
  • Preservation: Your milk is carefully preserved using a specialist process that transforms it into a powder before being incorporated into resin. This process takes approximately five days and helps protect the milk against deterioration.
  • Unused milk: Any remaining preserved breastmilk powder is securely stored for future remakes or additional orders.
  • Appearance: A natural, milk coloured finish is standard, although alternative colours, decorative flakes and opal accents are available upon request. Opal accents cost an additional £5 per item.

Umbilical Cord

Umbilical cord must be completely dried before sending.

Small strands or fragments can be incorporated throughout your jewellery or arranged in a particular area of the design.

If you would prefer your cord to be discreetly positioned or contained within a smaller section of your piece, please let us know your preferences.

Placenta

We can only accept fully dried or encapsulated placenta. Fresh placenta cannot be accepted.

  • If your placenta has been encapsulated, one capsule is sufficient.
  • The natural colour of your placenta may influence the appearance of your finished jewellery.
  • If you would prefer a more subtle finish, your placenta can be positioned in a smaller section of the design or concealed where the design allows.

Please contact us if you have any specific preferences.

Cremation Ashes

We can incorporate both human and animal cremation ashes into our jewellery.

  • Quantity required: Approximately one teaspoon of ashes is sufficient.
  • Inclusion Kit: UK orders include a suitable container for safely sending your ashes.
  • Natural appearance: Cremation ashes vary in colour, texture and particle size, which can influence the finished appearance of your jewellery.
  • Visible or discreet: Ashes can be displayed within the resin or incorporated more discreetly. If you would prefer your ashes to be concealed, please let us know.

We understand that cremation ashes are irreplaceable and treat every inclusion with the utmost care and respect.

Hair & Fur

Hair and fur can be incorporated into many of our jewellery designs, creating a beautiful keepsake of someone special.

  • Quantity required: A small curl, lock or tuft of hair or fur is usually sufficient.
  • Appearance: The colour, texture and thickness of the hair will influence how it appears within the resin.
  • Lighter hair: Blonde, white and grey hair may become translucent when placed in resin, making individual strands less visible.

Although we carefully select and position strands to achieve the best possible result, we cannot guarantee the visibility of hair or fur, as this depends on its natural characteristics.

If you have a particular arrangement in mind, please contact us before ordering.

Custom & Unusual Inclusions

We can accommodate a wide variety of sentimental inclusions beyond those listed above, including teeth, fabric, soil, pregnancy tests and other meaningful materials.

Some inclusions may require specialist preparation or may not be suitable for every jewellery design.

Please contact us before ordering with an unusual inclusion so we can discuss its suitability, your design preferences and any special preparation requirements.

A Little Reassurance

Your inclusions are handled with care throughout the creation process. Any unused inclusions will be returned with your completed jewellery, with the exception of preserved breastmilk powder, which is retained for future remakes or additional orders.

If you're unsure how much to send, how to prepare your inclusion or whether something can be incorporated into your chosen design, we're always happy to help.

Simply get in touch before ordering, and we'll guide you through the process.

Additional and Care Information

You must follow these care instructions carefully, we at Afallon DNA Jewellery do not accept any liability for jewellery that discolours, or becomes damaged due to the customer not following these care instructions.

Please be aware that your jewellery piece is made from sterling silver, this may have a chemical reaction with your skin and cause it to tarnish. A silver polishing cloth can clear and prevent tarnish.

Your piece is a unique genetically laced piece of irreplaceable jewellery. All DNA / Breastmilk & Keepsake Inclusions are primarily resin based. Resin is a beautiful medium, that requires care instructions to be strictly followed.

We recommend that clients remove all DNA, Breastmilk & Keepsake Jewellery before bed, bathing, showering, water & physical activities.

Exposing your piece to harsh & prolonged periods or sunlight, perfume, oils, hairspray,   essential oils, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water & silver polish ( on the Resin component ) will dramatically affect the integrity of your piece.

We recommend you remove your piece before using tanning solution, or hand sanitiser.

Cleaning Your Jewellery - A silver or gold based polishing cloth maybe used on the metal aspects of your piece. It is vital that you don't clean the " Resin " component with these cloths. The Resin component can be cleaned with a soft plain cloth.

Bumps and scrapes are sometimes unavoidable. If your resin piece becomes knocked or scratched please send us a photo and we can quote a repair.

We are happy to provide recasts or repairs within 6 months if all advice is followed - this does not cover accidental damage.

Storing your Jewellery - All jewellery should be stored away from natural light, heat sources, and in a jewellery box or tarnish - resistant pouch. Do not store in the bathroom or areas of high moisture.
